CHAPTER 5:

Yes because they are in fear after killing someone. If they turn themselves in, they could get hurt and Johnny could be beat up in retaliation of the Socs.

He admires his cursing.

So that they have a disguise. It means a lot because Greasers have long hair. Yes it is important of the length of the hair. If it is too long it looks messy. Sometimes, clean cut looks better.

He is resourceful and thinks of doing this for a while. He has planned for so long, that he could have ran away before.

She helps them because she thinks that it is her fault because they were trying to protect her. She is a spy for the Greasers. She also spys for them because she likes Ponyboy and Johnny.
2. Why do you think Johnny decided they should turn themselves in?
They know that they can't hide forever and they might be left off easy because they are minors. It is also the right thing to do. They were just doing it for self defense and they miss their families.

He considers Johnny and Ponyboy as family. He understands why things are the way they are.

Yes, they are heroes because they still save the kids even though they started the fire. They are not heroes because they run away, kill someone, and start a fire.

The boys are burned and bruised. Johnny's bruises are very critical and may not live. Ponyboy's injuries are minor except the big bump on his back. They are heroes because they saved the kids from the fire.

Johnny might die from all of the injuries. Also the brothers might be separated and be brought to the boys home because they are under age and with no legal guardian.

For parents to get them in trouble with limits. He wants them to say no and punish them. They want them to say no because you know that they are caring for you and hopefully they are teaching them a lesson. I agree.
